Silvering.

 The application of silvering chemicals to achieve a reflective surface on glass. Again this is not a definitive guide. Also the chemical formulas are subject to patents. This is small scale silvering, there are also big massive silvering plants.

After the brilliant cutting the glass has paint residues and wheel water run marks. Also dare I say it, slip marks from wood polishing, these have to be removed.

As in all things preparation is paramount. Powder polish gets the last bit of grease dirt.

Guest what, now all the powder has to go.

Now first chemical, Prewash don't ask.

Gravity feed chemicals from three bottles meet and combine on the glass surface and deposit a thin coat of silver.

So from now on we are just protecting that thin silver deposit. First a fine coat of copper from two gravity feed bottles, again meet and combine on the glass surface.

The copper has to be dried quickly.

Painted backing to protect the copper which protects the silver.

After leavening to dry on racks the face surface can be cleaned of all residues.
